About
This paper presents an overview of the development of gender equality research in Norway, with a focus on how a combination of methods and the inclusion of men and masculinities have contributed to the research development.
A new detailed survey model with five dimensions of gender equality was created in Norway 2007 (Likestilling og livskvalitet 2007). A revised version was later used in many countries (International Men and Gender Equality Survey), and a new extended model was applied in the Poland/Norway Gender Equality and Quality of Life study 2014-17.
The paper concludes by summarizing the main theoretical and methodological advances of this approach, as well as some problems and challenges ahead.
