Analysis of how young people is meeting demands in late modernity

About the project

This project asks how young people between 13 and 16 meet demands from school, parents and society in general (e.g., demands for academic achievement in school and the need to cooperate and to be independent and reflexive.). It also focuses on how they understand and meet demands from their friends, such as having the right cultural competence, making friends, and experiencing sexuality and love. And it analyzes the handling of different demands and type of skills in relation to class, ethnicity and gender.

The research is being conducted with varied qualitative methods, such as observation, interviews and analysis of pupils' own texts.
